Meghan McKenna, LCSW
Welcome! My name is Meghan McKenna, founder of MCM Counseling, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Connecticut. I provide therapy to adult individuals who may be navigating a variety of challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress and attachment challenges.
I earned a B.A. in Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University and a Master's Degree in Social Work with a focus on clinical work from University of Saint Joseph. I have experience in various clinical outpatient settings as well as public schools and have served a variety of age groups.
When I’m not in session, you can usually find me exploring a small New England town, browsing a thrift store or plant shop, taking a scenic walk, or getting cozy with a good book. I’m also a proud cat parent to two very silly cats who frequently end up in my camera roll — and I’m always happy to trade funny pet photos with fellow animal lovers!
We might work well together if...
you're looking for a warm, genuine relationship with your therapist where you can feel truly seen and heard. Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or you have been to therapy before, I believe it is important to choose a therapist that you have a connection with and feel comfortable around. To this end, my approach is collaborative and conversational; it is important to me that you feel like you are talking to a real human being and not a wall or a robot.
Therapy works best when it honors your unique journey and lived experiences. I operate from the belief that you are the expert of your own experience which shapes how you view the world around you. Together, we will navigate challenges and unhelpful patterns, build resilience and coping tools, and support a more balanced, fulfilling life.
If you are ready and this approach speaks to you please reach out to schedule an initial consultation. I would be honored to connect with you.
